Upon arrival, system was turned off. Turned the heat on from the thermostat and could hear the blower motor whirring but not turning on. Motor amped at 1.4 and is rated for 1.2. Also inspected all wiring connections, took voltage readings at the transformer and the relay. Took notice the contactor has pitting and charring due to age. Capacitor tests out of range, rated for 3+/-6% and read at 2.4. The fan did come on once forced from the thermostat. The unit running with no fan is causing everything to get hot and causes concern for the main heat pack having taken on damage. Placed thermostat settings to heat with fan at auto. Tried restarting the system several times to cause the blower motor to fail again and could not get it to do so. System is currently running. Advise replacing the blower motor, capacitor, contactor, relay, and board. Recommend replacement of system due to age and cost of repairs.

This company is very lucky to have Charlie represent them! The consultation fee was more than reasonable as was the 'maintenance fee' we would have paid had the unit warranted it. Charlie made it clear he couldn't do the maintenance as there are service issues with the unit that needs attention. We will be waiting to address these in the spring, as advised.
